We had 5 boys participate in an emergency drill with the Ellis County Community Emergency Response Team on Saturday, March 23, 2013. They were the simulated victims that had to be found and rescued by the CERT team. The boys had a great time simulating broken bones, head injuries, etc and the CERT team people were very appreciative. It also satisfied a hard-to-get merit badge requirement (Emergency Prep requirement 7). There will be other opportunities to participate in CERT exercises in the future for those interest.
